"THEE" CALL

“Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand”
Proverbs 19:21

Oh my.
What a whirlwind of a weekend it has been.
And it’s Wednesday!
Last week I wrote about rejection from a job I thought was mine. And the conflict my mind was going through when I had turned in my application to the center and before I answered the nanny family’s phone call.  I simply wanted to be where the Lord wanted me. And rested in the truth that He would be faithful to bring me there.
And He definitely lead me right there.
I interviewed Thursday morning with a Child and Family Development Center, went home for Vaught Christmas Saturday, and received “thee” phone call on Monday morning at 9:30. I am thankful that I was able to be with my mom and dad and Josh afterwards – so many hugs and happy tears!
The Lord is faithful.
This is what you might call my “dream” job.
The merging of two learning communities that I love so much.
I can talk about Jesus – freely.
But it is not a “church goer’s play group” which is all I had seen with Church based preschools.
And it actively invites families to participate in their child’s learning – something that I’ve learned is crucial for a child’s success.
I’ll have my own class of 8-10 little 4 and 5 year olds.
They are splitting their current preschool of 3-5’s into two separate rooms (3-4 and 4-5) so I will start out assisting to learn how the center functions and making final preparations in the classroom.
A brand new classroom, and a very brand new teacher.
And an even bigger bonus {besides the actual salary thing} is that I won’t officially start until January 2 – leaving the rest of this month to prepare, visit family, and most importantly, relax with my husband who is also enjoying his Christmas break.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

  1. As someone who was in your exact same shoes (recently graduated, not sure where God was leading me next, applying for jobs, and finally getting a job as a preschool teacher, etc.), I know the exact feeling of joy and gratitude as you are right now. I am so excited for you and so agree with you on God's faithfulness. Congrats on the new job! Teaching preschool is so much fun and I can't wait to read stories about your new job!
