The sweet Hughes family invited Josh and I and two other young couples from our church to see a production of Beauty and the Beast. I was a little nervous that it would be cancelled because of our little snow storm, but thankfully it wasn’t. It was one of my favorite plays. The singing, the acting, the “special effects”. Brilliance. I have so much respect for those actors – it truly is a talent. Plus, I grew up on these kind of classics so the emotional attachment of my childhood may have played into how much I loved it. While walking around before the play started we spotted many little girls dressed up in their finest Belle costumes. Not to boast, but as a young girl, I had one of those. Yellow ruffles and a cloth tiara to top it all off. One of these little beauties sat next to Josh and it was wonderful to watch her. Her eyes were fixed on the magical stage in between stealing glances at my man.
After the play we headed over to the Hughes’ for gumbo.
That stuff it good.
We ate our gumbo, laughed a lot, and then headed home just in time to beat the next round of snow.
