There are some songs that upon hearing you must replay until you can bear it no longer.
Songs that are meant to be sung.
Reflected upon.
And finally, shared.
This is one that I heard on a car ride with Becca in Arkansas and has been on my mind ever since.
The lyrics, “There you go, lifting my load again.”
{Which almost seem cheesy or perhaps cliche now}
struck a chord with me.
The repeated stanzas.
And humbling message.
All mixed with the simplicity of the piano, guitar, and faint drums.
Take a moment to remember
Who God is
And who I am
There you go lifting my load again.

No longer am I held by the yoke of this world
Come up under the yoke of Jesus
His yoke is easy
His burden is so light.

Your love carries,
Your love carries me through
All the valleys
And the darkest places.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30
