what i learned about the zoo with six kindergartners.

1. You will never love animals more than you do at five years old.
2. Your mind will constantly be counting. “One, two, three, four, five, six. One two, three four five….nuts! Boy in blue hoodie, boy in blue hoodie…SIX! YES!”
3. Early on you will easily recognize the fast walkers and the slow walkers. You think, “Good gravy would you just hurry up already?” or worse…”STOP!”
4. You will tell them {sadly} that, “The quarters are for animal food, not ice cream.”
5. I have absolutely no idea how a teacher would take on a whole class without losing their sanity. I’ll take six please. Six is great.
