it’s snowing charlie brown.

I woke up this morning to the first snow of the season and these little guys {a result of dad’s impulse buy on Monday} – so happily skating by the frost on our window.  Flaunting their lack of responsibility. Look at those faces – pure joy. I bundled up, shielded my face, started my little car {I like to start it early to minimize actual windshield scraping}, and headed in to pack my lunch for work.  Dad walks outside, walks inside, pauses, and says, “I’m taking you to work today.”  Sweet dad.  It wasn’t too bad out – just a lot of ice and wind but I dislike driving in it so I’m thankful he offered. Sliding paranoia.

Snow.  It’s a beautiful thing when you don’t have to be anywhere.

After a long day of selling and wrapping I am thankful to be sitting in our cozy house with mom, Heather, and Timothy. With all the decorations, tree, and Little House on the Prairie playing it still doesn’t feel like Christmas.  Just winter.
